Ich wünsche ein frohes Jahr 2005, wenngleich MTV und Viva ihre besten Sendungen in Deutschland aus dem Programm kippen ("Spin" mit Markus Kavka und "Fast Forward" mit Charlotte Roche). Dafür lässt sich das Programm auf dem hannoverschen Lokalsender H 1 immer mehr sehen. Ich werde über die Programmänderungen kurzfristig bei meinen TV-Tipps informieren.

Nach langer Zeit lasse ich mal wieder etwas von mir hören:

Ich habe aufgrund der vermehrten Nachfrage auf der "Wanted"-Site eine etwas längere Version von Stay eingespielt. Mehr geht leider nicht, da ich es nur so auf meinem alten Tape habe.

Die "TV-Tipps" habe ich auch noch einmal überarbeitet, da sich Onyx schleichend verabschiedet. Es gibt keine Moderatoren mehr und der Sendebetrieb wird im September 2004 eingestellt. Kennt jemand gute Alternativen für den klasse Musikmix (z.B. Händler von aktuellen Promo Videos oder andere Fernsehstationen ggf. über Satellit)?

Zu guter Letzt: Ich habe letzte Woche meine Lieblingsband, die Go-Betweens, mal wieder live sehen und hören können (24.07.2003 im Zakk in Düsseldorf). Es war ein tolles Konzert mit Material der letzten beiden Alben, dem Best Of-Album und - absolut genial - sehr vielen Songs von ihrem 88er Album "16 Lovers Lane". Warum habe ich nur kein Tonbandgerät oder zumindest eine Digitalkamera? Zumindest konnte ich mir ein weiteres Autogramm von Robert holen. - Die Auswirkungen könnt ihr in meinen Album-Charts betrachten. - Grüße an alle anderen Go-Betweens-Fans.

Wieder ein "Most Wanted"-Song gelöst: Panther Rex "Come Over Tonight". Vielen Dank an Mr. Italo (Marek) für die Auflösung und an Andreas, der mir einen Ebay-Tipp gegeben hat. Nun habe ich nicht nur den Song sondern das ganze Album.

Da ich derzeit stärker mit Arbeit eingedeckt bin, werden einige Aktualisierungen sich verzögern: Das "Musik-Quiz" nur ungefähr alle zwei Monate (üblich monatlich) und der "Song of the Week" alle zwei Wochen (üblich wöchentlich).

Darüber hinaus kann es passieren, dass ich nicht jede Mail beantworten kann. Bitte beachtet meine Hinweise auf den folgenden Seiten: "Song of the Week" und "Videolisten".

Ich habe die "TV-Tipps" etwas aktualisiert, da "Fast Forward" nunmehr erst ab 23 Uhr läuft (wegen so ätzender Comedy à la Crank Yankers, Fleischmann TV und wie der ganze Müll heißt - ist Viva kein Musiksender mehr?). Und für Hannover gibt's gleich noch 'ne schlechte Nachricht: MTV 2 ist nur noch Nachmittags bis 20 Uhr zu empfangen, da dann "Big Brother" Tele 5 (nochmals ätz) sendet.

Außerdem habe ich noch einmal die "Video Hauptseite" aktualisiert, da ich nunmehr die Videoclips auf DVD brenne.

Für das Musikrätsel Januar/Februar 2003 habe ich erfreulich viele richtige Lösungen erhalten. Daher habe ich diesmal von drei Gewinnern (Reinhard, Dennis und Holger) je einen Musikwunsch aufgenommen, der in den kommenden Wochen als "Song of the Week" läuft. Den Anfang macht Der Plan gleich diese Woche als Wunsch von Reinhard. Das Rätsel für diesen Monat kann nun von Euch in Angriff genommen werden.

Weitere Auflösungen bei den "Most Wanted"-Songs:

"Screams And Whispers" (Titel nicht gesichert) ist von Eskimos & Egypt. Vielen Dank an Paul, der den Titel von Hannover um die Welt getragen hat und über Ecki Stieg wieder nach Hannover gebracht hat. Aber seht selbst.

"So High" könnte John David's "On The Mountain" sein (ein weiterer Track, den Paul ermittelt hat).

Zum Schluss konnte auch "Once Upon A Time Out" geklärt werden: Der Song ist von Lizzy Mercier Descloux (siehe Details). Hier war Michael tätig.

Etwas verspätet habe ich die Lösung des Dezember-Rätsels auf der Quiz-Seite eingestellt. Das Rätsel wurde nur von Wenigen gelöst. Den MP3-Wunsch kann ich nur von Nadine erfüllen, da der von ihr ausgewählte Track nach meinem Kenntnisstand seit Jahren nicht mehr im Handel erhätlich ist: Care's "Flaming Sword" wird der nächste "Song of the Week".

Ich werde daher einerseits einen weiteren Song von The Game einstellen (scheinbar die meistgewünschte Band auf meiner Site) und andererseits das Musik-Quiz künftig in englischer Sprache gestalten. Eine gute und eine schlechte Nachricht. Die schlechte zuerst: Es sind nicht mehr alle MP3-Dateien beim "Song of the Week" verfügbar. Ich versuche aber noch einen Teil wieder verfügbar zu machen. Nun die gute Nachricht: Um den Zugriff auf die Seiten zu beschleunigen, gibt es künftig ein "Songs Archiv", in dem die älteren Songs, Bilder und Texte abgelegt sind. Auch bei den Verkaufslisten sind alle Bilder entfernt worden.

Ich hab' ihn endlich: Den Clip zu "The First Picture Of You" von den Lotus Eaters :-). Habe schon seit einigen Jahren danach gefahndet. Darüber hinaus sind auf dem Tape "Arista Hits 1" noch so illustre Interpreten wie Fashion, The Danse Society oder Bruce Foxton. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Das Oktober-Quiz ist beendet. Lediglich zwei Teilnehmer haben das Rätsel gelöst (oder nur das Lösungswort?) und von den beiden hat auch nur Dennis einen MP3-Wunsch geäußert: In Tua Nua mit "All I Wanted". Der Song kommt nächste Woche als "Song of the Week". Herzlichen Glückwunsch.

Die Verkaufslisten als auch die Videolisten sind um einige HTML-Codes sowie Mehrfachnennungen gekürzt, so dass die Seiten schneller ladbar sein sollten.

 

Es wurde auch schon wieder ein Song auf der "Most Wanted"-Seite gelöst. Da aber immer noch viele Fragezeichen bestehen, hier erneut mein Aufruf, die Rätsel zu knacken.

Die Verkaufslisten sind um einige - wie ich denke - interessante Artikel der 80er Jahre Wave-Musik (z.B. Impulse, H2O und English Evenings) ergänzt. Kurzfristig kommen noch u.a. Vitamin Z hinzu. Es sind auch zwei tolle NDW-Zusammenstellungen auf CD dabei. Viel Spaß beim Durchschauen.

Wow ... das wurde aber auch mal Zeit: The Go-Betweens, meine unangefochtene Lieblingsgruppe, wurde das erste Mal (?) gesamplet. Milky hat in "Just The Way You Are" "Streets Of Your Town" verarbeitet und gleich einen UK Top 10-Hit (#8) hingelegt. In meinen Singles-Charts langt es erst einmal nur für Platz #18.

Ein Monat lang ohne News. Will mal wieder aktiv werden.

Zum Einen habe ich die TV-Tipps aktualisiert, da z.B. der Musikladen auf SFB1 sein Ende gefunden hat und meines Wissens nur noch beim ORB läuft (hoffentlich bis zur 90. und letzten Folge, da mir noch einige Shows fehlen).

Wie angekündigt gibt es einige neue "Most Wanted"-Songs von Ximo aus Spanien. Bitte bei "Treffern" Info an Ximo und mich. Ich überlege meine eigenen "Most Wanted"-Songs evtl. noch einmal verkürzt (zum schnellen Download) zur Verfügung zu stellen. Ist das eine gute Idee? Könnt' mir ja mal schreiben.

Hat lange keine News gegeben: Bedauerlicherweise hat sich die Veröffentlichung des nächsten "Song Of The Week" etwas verzögert. Bei ein paar älteren treten derzeit Ladeprobleme auf. Wird von mir in Kürze behoben.

Von der Band Novecento werde ich keine MP3-Datei zur Verfügung stellen, da es wohl in Italien noch ein Copyright gibt. Aber zumindest wird's das Cover der Single "Movin' On" geben.

Ich werde auch diese Woche ein paar weitere "Most Wanted"-Songs von Ximo aus Spanien herausbringen. Also schaut auch dort mal wieder rein.

Die "EXPO-Revival-Party" von Freitag bis Sonntag stand durch NDR 2 am heutigen Freitag unter dem Motto "80erJahre-Party". Bis auf die zum Teil dämlichen Anmoderationen und peinlichen Gewinnspiele war die Musik ein Volltreffer: Es gab Live-Musik von Alphaville, Bananarama, Jimmy Somerville und Status Quo, wobei ich mir Status Quo nicht mehr angetan habe (die mochte ich schon in der 80ern Jahren nicht).

Von der ursprünglichen Alphaville-Besetzung ist nur noch Marian Gold über und es scheint, dass er dem Alkohol zuträglicher ist als gut für ihn ist (wie ist sonst sein aufgedunsener Körper und ein "Fan"-Banner mit der Aufschrift "Alkohol - 4 Ever" zu verstehen?). Es gibt nur wenige Hits, was bedauerlicherweise viele Besucher veranlasst, über Gott und die Welt zu plaudern, so dass man beim Zuhören gestört wird.

Bananarama's Musik kommt vom Band, nur die Vocals und Tanzeinlagen sind echt. Sie spielen nur ihre Hits. Bei "Really Sayin' Something" vermisse ich Terry Hall ganz schmerzlich. Leider gibt es mit der Bandmaschine Probleme, so dass Bananarama kurzerhand Accapella singen, aber auch ihren Auftritt verkürzen. Gemäß Programminfo soll es sogar eine neue CD "Exotica" geben. Mal schau'n.

Jimmy Somerville erntet den größten Zuspruch; hat er doch Songs von Bronski Beat über die Communards bis hin zu seinen Solo-Singles im Gepäck. Bei ihm kommen die einzigen Zugaberufe, doch der NDR 2-Zeitplan sieht dies nicht vor.

Die "Nokia Night Of The Proms 2001 - Klassik Trifft Pop" wird (wiederholt?) in den Dritten Programmen (ORB 18.05.2002 und Hessen 19.05.2002) ausgestrahlt. Nun kann ich endlich die Stars - Martin Fry von ABC, Meat Loaf, Chris De Burgh und Laith Al-Deen - aus der Nähe sehen; ich hatte das Spektakel im letzten Jahr live gesehen, allerdings von einem Platz ziemlich weit von der Bühne entfernt. Die einzelnen Titel kommen in eins der nächsten Updates für die Videolisten.

Die Homepage wird um ein paar Funktionalitäten erweitert: Sowohl die Verkaufs- als auch die Videoseite erhalten ein alphabetisches Register zum schnelleren Finden von Informationen. Darüber hinaus werden die von mir auf der Videoseite gesuchten Interpreten mit den Listen verlinkt, so dass sofort ersichtlich ist, welche Clips mir bereits vorliegen. Abschließend wird die Verkaufsseite mit der Bestellseite verknüpft und diese übersichtlicher gestaltet.

Mehr Hannover'sches Lokalkolorit: Die Homepage erhält das "Expo 2000"-Logo und in den TV-Tipps werden die Highlights des "Offenen Kanals Hannover" aufgenommen. In "Backstage TV - Es Ist Doch Nur Musik" tauchen hie und da auch Ecki Stieg (ehemals "ffn - Grenzwellen") und Sabine Bulthaupt ("Frühstyxradio" mit Dietmar Wischmeyer und Oliver Kalkofe) auf. Musikalische Gäste waren u.a. Rosenfels, Stella, Kürsche und die Glidshees.

Wieder zwei Songs gelöst: Howard Devoto's "Rainy Season" und Headless Chickens' "Expecting To Fly".

Ganz tolles Video entdeckt: Alison Moyet With David Freeman (The Lover Speaks-Sänger) mit "Sleep Like Breathing" (11/1987). Wurde die Single von der Plattenfirma zurückgezogen oder warum war der Song kein Hit? Der Titel ist auch auf Alison Moyets zweiter LP "Raincloud" enthalten.

Anmerkung: Ggf. war das Video nur eine Promotion für den Sampler "A Very Special Christmas"?

At lastt: Last week, 24.07.2003, I could see and hear my most favourite act, the Go-Betweens,  playing live at Zakk in Düsseldorf. It was a brilliant concert with material from their last two albums, the Best Of-album and - most genious - many songs from their '88 album "16 Lovers Lane". Why didn't I have a tape recorder or maybe a digicam? At least I could get another autogram by Robert. - You can see the result on my Album-Charts. - Greetings to all other Go-Betweens-fans.

Another "Most Wanted"-track is solved: Panther Rex "Come Over Tonight". Many thanks to Mr. Italo (Marek) for his participation and to Andreas who gave me an Ebay advice. Now I own not only this track but the whole LP.

As I'm working harder these days, the updates will take some more time: The "Musik-riddle" only about every second month (usually monthly) and the "Song of the Week" only every second week (usually weekly).

So I will upload another song of The Game (supposed to be the most wanted band on my site) and redesigned the Music-riddle in English language. Now I have the promo video for "The First Picture Of You" from The Lotus Eaters :-). I've searched for this for years. Also the tape "Arista Hits 1" includes such artists like Fashion, The Danse Society or Bruce Foxton. Very recommended.

The October-Riddle has ended. Only two competitors solved it (or just the expression?) and only one of them, Dennis, requests an mp3: In Tua Nua with "All I Wanted". This song's next weeks's "Song of the Week". Congratulations.

Wow ... The Go-Betweens, my all-time favourite band, was sampled for the first time (?). Milky has put "Streets Of Your Town" in her first single "Just The Way You Are" and jumped straight into the UK Top 10 (#8). In my Singles-Charts she only gets to #18 till now.

There are no news for a long time: Unfortunately there's a delay in the release of the latest "Song Of The Week". With some older releases you may experience some download problems. I'll fix it as soon as possible.

I can't offer you the mp3 from Novecento "Movin' On" for copyright reasons. But you will see the nice cover of this single later on.

On the "EXPO-Revival-Party" on Friday I see some 80ies heroes: There's live music from Alphaville, Bananarama, Jimmy Somerville and Status Quo, but the last one I don't want to see (I disn't like them in the 80's ever).

From the original Alphaville-members only Marian Gold remains and it seems that he drinks more alcohol than he can stand (how else you can explain his bloated body and a "fan"-banner with the words "Alcohol - 4 Ever"?). You can't hear many hits so some parts of the spectators start talking and I have difficulties in hearing the rest of the concert.

Bananarama's music comes from a tape, only vocals and dance inserts are real. They are only playing their greatest hits. I really miss Terry Hall in the song "Really Sayin' Something". The "Nokia Night Of The Proms 2001 - Classic Meets Pop" is broadcast by German TV. Now I can see all the stars - Martin Fry from ABC, Meat Loaf, Chris De Burgh and Laith Al-Deen - at close range; I went to this show last year but had only a seat far away from the stage. The single tracks will be displayed in one of the next updates for the  video lists.

The site "Song of the Week" gets a better design: Now you can see all informations without scrolling a lot.

The homepage get some more functions: Both the sales- and the videosite now include an alphabetical register for a faster searching for informations. Also the artists mentioned on the videosite link to the lists, so you can immediately see, which clips I already have. Finally the salessite is linked with the ordersite and this site is now more clearly arranged.

Brilliant promo video found: Alison Moyet With David Freeman (The Lover Speaks-singer) with "Sleep Like Breathing" (11/1987). Was this single withdrawn by the record company or why wasn't it a hit? The song ist also on Alison Moyet's second LP "Raincloud".

Note: Maybe this track is on the sampler "A Very Special Christmas" and the video was made to promote this LP?!
